On Earth Day 2018, the Leftist Marching Band kicked off the 350NH/SAPL Rally for Renewables in Concord, New Hampshire.
A great variety of state and national organizations set up displays with literature and answered the public’s questions about offshore wind, land conservation, renewable energy, and creating a safer, more sustainable future for the entire planet. 350NH activist Griffin Sinclair-Wingate emceed the event. New Hampshire House Representative Renny Cushing spoke about the potential of offshore wind—to wean us from fossil fuel dependence to the benefit of our health, our national and local economy, and national security.
New Hampshire House Representative Marge Shepardson delivered business letters and petition warrant articles to Governor Sununu requesting that he initiate a working committee from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to move New Hampshire forward on offshore wind development.
Sylvia Foster shared a poem and spoke about the events that surrounded the very first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, reminding everyone of the true meaning of Earth Day, and encouraging people to make every day Earth Day.
