Dr. Dagher is leading a consortium of institutions and companies building the first pilot floating wind power project in the Western Hemisphere, expected to be up-and-running off Monhegan Island, Maine in the next few years. He has been at the forefront of the state’s offshore wind research for more than decade now, and has a wealth of experience and perspective to offer.

According to the federal Dept. of Energy, offshore wind in the Gulf of Maine has a total potential to power the entire East Coast, and tapping just a small percentage of that total – combined with solar and other renewable sources – could provide all the power NH and neighboring states need to be self-sufficient, zero-carbon and sustainable in coming decades.
